Biographical Info - Bent Meyer
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (MC60174227) in Washington State. I am a private and independent practitioner and work in association with several other independent practitioners under the heading of Eastside Christian Counseling Offices. This association exists for the purpose of sharing business expenses and does not constitute a partnership or shared therapeutic practice.
I am also an affiliate of Northwest Family Counseling, an agency devoted to prevention, victim advocacy, and offender treatment, as well as, individual and couples therapy.
I completed a Master of Arts degree in Counseling/Psychology from Mars Hill Graduate School, Seattle, Washington. I also earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Education from Western Washington University. I received training from Survivors of Abuse Training Seminars (S.A.L.T.S.) to provide group processing for survivors of early childhood trauma (sexual, physical, and emotional).
My therapeutic orientation considers early childhood body, emotional and cognitive development as fundamental features which form the adult self. These structures provide health and/or dysfunction, comfort and/or terrors, intimate and/or failed relationships. My work with clients is an effort to experience the internal world in a new context in which terrors open to possibilities and repeated relational failures become opportunities for growth and relational enrichment while also maintaining safeguards against re-victimization.
